ButterflyCrab

Emerging from a cocoon
The butterfly is sticky and wet
An ugly truth is change
And it never comes without pain
Crawling from the sea
The crab is exposed and heavy
Inescapable is transformation
But not without hesitation
The mother screams
As she births her babe
And then she cries
As she cradles that love she made
The child moans
As he buries his authors
But then comes home
To raise his daughters
Nectar from colored buds
The butterfly mutualizes
Intoxicating to pollinate
Yet, exhausted by the end of the day
The child grows
And becomes a man
And, even though it is hard
He tries as hard as he can
Like a butterfly
He never stops flying
And like a crab, he always feels
Like he's fighting
Fickle-minded is a man who never lives
But, never invalidated by shortcomings or sins
And, if a simple touch could heal his wounds
Imagine the wonders an embrace would do
Strong and brave is the woman who lives
Locomotion fueled by the fire within
Absolved by a bow, and a loving kin
Then, the dance begins all over again
The body fades
As it collects it age
And then it dies
And, on top of the skull, we build a brand new stage
The spirit sighs
As it holds its lover
And then goes home to guide
Another

Propagate
03:43
|
|||
I am disheartened by brothers taking advantage of sisters
I am disheartened by sky-fathers who leave faith bruised, and blistered
I bother not with taking risks for the sake of capital
When I blow you a kiss, you eviscerate me like an animal
Wake up!
I bow not to kings who care only for frivolous things
And close their eyes to suffering, and unsustainability
I'd rather not educate, if my words are used to propagate a system that's dead
So, tie my hands, and cut off my head
Wake up!
No bees to sting, the kids in the choir won't sing
They're watching a blood-stained TV
(We never stop running)
A muscle car drives away from a baby who cries
Because, it fights to stay alive
(Who's gonna stop the constant running?)

Saturn's Return
04:00
|
|||
Something's gotta give
Something's gotta heal this burn
So, I'll wait for Saturn's Return
Someone's gotta push
Someone's gotta live and learn
So, I'll wait for Saturn's Return
It's a cold one tonight
So, I'm gonna start a fire
But, if it becomes a fight
I'll use it to burn down these walls
It's a still one tonight
So, I'll run and kick up some dirt
And, once I'm out of sight
I won't feel so bad at all
I wanna see my try
I wanna see me crash and burn
Right before I see Saturn's Return
I wanna see me cry
I wanna be at a loss for words
I wanna be overjoyed for Saturn's Return
It's a lonely tonight
So I'm gonna sing to myself
And, in the youngling's plight
My voice is a visceral guide
It's a dark one tonight
So, I'm gonna stare at the stars
And, catch a distant sunlight
To guide me across the skies
Talk yourself up
Talk yourself down
The pedestal is your's
Let thy kingdom come
The night is mine
So I'm gonna do what I can
To make things right
And, hold onto my heart, tight
The planets in the sky
Aren't as far as they seem
'Cause if you breathe just right
You'll watch yourself take flight
